The Talkpod A50P is a perfectly good standard general-purpose business walkie-talkie radio.
But it also has an amazing ability to network together with a user group of other A50P walkie-talkies to seamlessly relay radio messages from one to another, creating an instant mesh.
Effectively, each A50P radio acts as its own mini-repeater, so when you have a reasonable number of these radios used in the same area, then they all benefit from increased range and coverage, because each radio can "pass on" messages to other radios within its range.
This "meshing" facility could easily solve problems when using radios within a multi-floor building, for example, and conventional radios will not get the signal from the 6th floor all the way to the basement.
If there some radio users on all or most of the different levels, then their radios will relay the messages so that complete coverage is achieved.
