Hire Vehicle Radios For Driving Trips & Convoys

We have powerful vehicle radios for hire that are ideal for use when a group of cars or other vehicles are travelling together in a convoy, and the occupants need to stay in touch on thie road-trip.

These radios are a LOT more powerful than walkie talkies, and so will transmit over much longer ranges (several miles, although it does depend on terrain – big buildings and mountains will block radio signals).

HIGHER POWER RADIOS FOR CONVOY DRIVING USE

Their power output is 25 watts compared to 4 watts for a walkie talkie. Walkie talkies are OK when you are ... walking and talking, but at driving speeds, if one vehicle in a convoy had to stop, a walkie talkie would be out of range of the rest of the convoy group in a minute or so. With our vehicle radios, the range is a lot bigger.

They look a lot like old-school vehicle “CB radios” and work in the same way too.

These radios do not need to be “installed” in the vehicle, their power lead just plugs in to the cigarette lighter 12 volt socket.

We provide a “magnetic mount” antenna which will stick on the roof of the vehicle with the aerial lead coming in through a window.

We also have some “sucker” antennas for use on cars not made of steel where the “mag-mount” aerials won’t work.

(please note that the Coca Cola can is not part of the kit, and is included as a size reference only!)

The radio unit can just be placed anywhere on the car’s dashboard, centre console or even in the passenger footwell.

You can let each other know of upcoming turn-offs, plans to stop for a break or for fuel, and to let each other know of any problems with the convoy vehicles, passengers, or hazards on the road ahead.

The good news is that you don’t need to dress like the star of any old Hollywood CB-related movies to use our vehicle radios for your convoy / road trip.

 You also don’t need to:

• Drive an 18 wheeler truck
• Learn to use CB jargon such as “10-4” etc
• Run police roadblocks

You just need to pay us for the hire and you are all set to use our radios for your driving convoy adventure.

£19 + VAT for up to one week
£26 + VAT for 1 to 2 weeks
£31 + VAT for 2 to 3 weeks
£36 + VAT for 3 week to a month
